During cataract surgery, your natural lens is removed and replaced with an acrylic implant. This implant is permanent and will allow you to have clear vision without the hindrance of a cataract (which causes blurry vision).

For all Cataract treatments... You will need a referral from your family physician, or your optometrist, for a cataract assessment with Dr. Blaylock. Cataract surgery with a rigid lens implant is fully covered by Medical Services Plan of B.C.

IOL Master Technology
 We are pleased to offer our patients the latest technology for Intraocular Lens power calculations.
The new Zeiss IOL Master technology is used for extremely accurate measurement of the axial length of the eye used to determine the power of the lens implant for each individual eye. It is extremely important to obtain precise measurements on each patient to provide them with the best possible visual outcome when considering a lens implant surgical procedure.
